A joint operation by Karampur Police, Punjab Food Authority, and Livestock Department — conducted on the tip-off from Special Branch — led to the arrest of four suspects attempting to sell meat from a Lumpy Skin–infected animal.
During the raid, officials recovered 4 maunds of slaughtered calf meat, which was being transported to Vehari for sale.
Police say the accused purchased the sick animal for just Rs. 5,000 and were involved in supplying meat across the district.
The suspects are under investigation, while authorities have warned of strict action against those endangering public health.
